Describe at least one way that a character or individual changed in the book. Explain how this change was important to the book as a whole. Peekay went through a huge change during the story from being a victim of bullying with no self-confidence to the aspiring welterweight champion full of energy and potential, and all it took was one person to help make the change by being kind, for Peekay this was Hoppie. Hoppie was the first person who shown to Peekay that he doesn’t need to be ashamed of who he is, Hoppie found out Peekay was English to Peekay’s dismay but still cared about Peekay helping him build confidence. In the small time Peekay knew Hoppie, it lead him on a great path for the rest of the book being that Hoppie gave him a dream to become the welterweight champion.
